ACTION REQUESTED: Receive the report of the By-laws Task Force. Download the Related Staff Report ACTION TAKEN: Jeff Strand presented the report on By-laws revisions for the Task Force. It was determined that action on adopting revisions would be scheduled for the August meeting of the Policy Board. ACTION REQUESTED: Approve the dates for the Election of Neighborhood Representative to the 2005 Policy Board. Download the Related Staff Report ACTION TAKEN: [NRP/PR#2004-30] Moved: Hofstede, Seconded: Korb RESOLVED: That the Minneapolis Neighborhood Revitalization Policy Board hereby approves the following dates for the 2004 Neighborhood Representative Election. Candidate filing forms available: Friday, August 20 Candidate filing deadline: Friday, September 17 Candidate forums & Election: Thursday, November 18 Discussion about the upcoming election generated the following resolutions. [NRP/PR#2004-31] Upon a motion by David Fey and seconded by Paul Ostrow the following resolution was adopted. RESOLVED: That a discussion of the Procedures for Election of Neighborhood Representatives and the Election Rules be on the August Policy Board meeting agenda. [NRP/PR#2004-32] Upon a motion by Debbie Evans and seconded by Diane Hofstede the following resolution was adopted. RESOLVED: That the By-Laws Task Force meet prior to the August Policy Board meeting for the purpose of discussing the Neighborhood Representative election process and procedures. ACTION REQUESTED: Receive and File. Download the Related Staff Report ACTION TAKEN: John Akre and Mike Romens presented a Phase I Plan Review on behalf of the Sheridan Neighborhood Organization (SNO). Their presentation included a video showing highlights of Sheridan's neighborhood events. It was pointed out that SNO took over implementation of the Neighborhood Action Plan, which was originally written by another Sheridan neighborhood group. Collaborations on projects with other Northeast neighborhoods were highlighted and it was also noted that SNO does not rely on paid staff but on lots of enthusiastic volunteers to implement their projects and programs. The Board received and filed the report. ACTION REQUESTED: Receive and File. Download the Related Staff Report ACTION TAKEN: NRP Director Miller presented the review on behalf of the neighborhood. He highlighted the considerable leveraging of additional dollars the neighborhood accomplished in the implementation of their plan. Also, of special note were the major projects of East Village the Grant Park development. The neighborhood's work with commercial development projects was also noted. ACTION REQUESTED: Approve the use of up to $2,000 from the 2004 NRP Administrative Budget as a match for the Citizen Engagement project awarded by NPCR. ACTION TAKEN: [NRP/FR#2004-18] Moved: Hofstede, Seconded: Laher RESOLVED: That the Minneapolis Neighborhood Revitalization Policy Board approves the use of up to $2,000 in matching funds from the NRP 2004 administrative budget to support this CURA research project.
