June 16, 2005 - The Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (
www.mwmo.org/) is asking for your ideas and input in developing a Watershed Education Program. The MWMO is an agency that manages the surface and ground water resources in the Village of Saint Anthony, Lauderdale and parts of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

The Mississippi Watershed Management Organization is one of about three dozen watershed organizations in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. It's boundaries include the Mississippi River as it runs through Minneapolis, as well as the land that drains to the River. The MWMO contains portions of the cities of Lauderdale, Minneapolis, St. Anthony, and St. Paul. The final member of the MWMO is the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.

Mission of the MWMO:
The Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of water and the quality of life in the Mississippi Watershed.
The MWMO will provide for the long-term management of its water and associated land resources through the development and implementation of projects, programs, and policies that respect ecosystem principles and reflect changing community values. The MWMO will assist and cooperate with member cities, other units of government, non-profit agencies, and a variety of groups in managing its water resources to achieve this vision.
