June 1, 2005 - NRP is hosting two free workshops in June as part of the NRP Learning Series 2005. These workshops - one on NRP Housing Funds and one on Fundraising - will be held in the CPED Conference Room 3; Crown Roller Mill second floor; 105 Fifth Ave South. See directions, parking, and registration information below.
An Introduction to the New NRP Housing Funds
Monday, June 20 - 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
In October 2004, the NRP Policy Board approved guidelines for the 8 new NRP Housing Funds (a ninth was added in 2005). These funds are designed to simplify the process for neighborhoods of starting and managing NRP housing programs. This workshop will provide an introduction to the new NRP housing funds, as well as background on how the funds work. Presented by Bob Miller.
Fundraising in the Neighborhood
Thursday, June 30 - 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Don't cheat residents and other stakeholders in your neighborhood of the opportunity to "own" a part of your organization! A good fundraising campaign can raise more than just financial capital for your group-it can also build ownership and participation. This workshop will provide the reasons you need to move your organization toward a solid fundraising plan. Learn some basic principles of fundraising, get some ideas for fundraising events, hear real life stories of neighborhood fundraising events, and share your ideas and success stories with others!
Registration
To register for any NRP workshop, call Robert Thompson at 673-5149, or send an email to
